      THE RECORDING
Goodbye Doris was recorded during sporadic sessions from May to December 2006 by Ryan Mills at both his Toronto studio - Sleepytown Sound - and the band's home base, the Fracture Room in Alcona. Mixed hastily by Ryan Mills and Fox Jaws, with some assistance from Mike Kuehn, co-owner of Sleepytown Sound. Mastered by Ryan Mills at Joao Carvalho Mastering in Toronto. These 11 songs were composed over span of a couple of years, probably about 2004 - 2006 ... music written by the members of the band, with lyrics by Carleigh and Dan and a little bit by Brandyn ... some musical help was added by ex-member Michael McMaster, most notably "My Hands, My Plans" and "Mike Song". Some sounds were experimental, and some were well-rehearsed, depending on how much time we had for a session with Ryan.

      COVER DESIGN
The cover image was assembled by the members of the band on the floor of the rehearsal space in Dan and Derek's house (known as the Fracture Room because of a strange sign on the door saying "Fracture Room", left behind by Bruce Howatt). Dan and Derek's grandfather, Bruce, willed his house to them upon his death, and with it a great deal of wonderful trinkets of all sorts. We created a collage with these items, some instruments and some objects from the yard to represent all that we had come from as people and as a band. It was photographed by Cataline Sadaba up on a big ladder, assisted by her brother, Dan Sadaba. Brandyn designed the layout using hand-cut letters, and painstakingly wrote out each song title and photographed them. This procedure was repeated four different times to capture the right light and configuration.

      CHAULK RECORDS
The band released Goodbye Doris under the name Chaulk Records. The name was inspired by Elsa Allen and her chalk drawings on the driveway. Dan thought the "U" should be added to make it unique, but Brandyn thought it might encroach on the musical career of Wayne Chaulk, a hardly-famous Canadian adult contemporary artist from the early nineties. However, it was agreed to stick with this spelling, with all due respect to Wayne. To date, 1,000 copies of Goodbye Doris have been printed under the Chaulk Records name.
